I cannot believe that it has been so long since I last posted a blog! The past few months here at Intrinsic FM have been extremely busy and, in all honesty, time has flown by. The summer came, and judging by the current weather in Manchester, has gone again!

Here’s an update on what has being going on:

Pre-qualification Success

We are now listed as pre-qualified on a number of procurement systems belonging to large, national construction companies. Our Industrial Team has been inundated with work, following a stream of successful, competitive bids. These teams have been working throughout Manchester, the North West and Yorkshire completing a large number of post construction, cleaning schedules. This has included major developments in Manchester city centre for Russell Construction, new schools for Galliford Try and retail developments for Caddick Construction. These jobs necessitate a large amount of organisation, particularly as they demand a substantial quantity of labour and consequently a high level of supervision is needed.

Health and Safety

Heath and safety is always at the forefront of any activity that Intrinsic FM conduct and detailed site specific risk assessments have to be written along with safe work method statements. Each member of the Intrinsic FM Industrial Team holds a CSCS card and they are dedicated to maintaining the health and safety standards of our clients.

We are so privileged to have such hard working members of staff that have unequivocally upped their game at this exciting time.

Quality Management Systems

June saw the start of our preparation for the ISO9001:2015 certification. This is the latest management standard and our certification will be awarded by a UKAS-accredited body. Although it is not compulsory for an ISO standard to be certified by UKAS, doing so by a UKAS-accredited certification body means that it has been independently verified. After researching the market within the cleaning and FM industry, we discovered that an increasing number of customers are insisting on UKAS-accredited certification. So if it’s what they want, it’s what we want!

A standard annual practice is to send out customer satisfaction questionnaires to our clients and the response so far has been incredibly positive, which we are obviously delighted with.

Working with the assistance of our consultant, we expect to gain this prestigious acclamation by the end of the year.

Cleaning for the New Academic Year

Our efforts now turn to preparing our clients’ school premises for the start of the academic year. Deep cleaning along with floor stripping and polishing is on the agenda so that the pupils start their year in the nicest possible environment.
